Wednesday 7 Jan- Extreme Weather Policy Implemented

Published on 6th January 2026 in Guest Only

The Club’s weather monitoring service, Ubimet, is forecasting the temperature for Wednesday 7 January to be 38.5°C.

As a result, The Barwon Heads Golf Club has implemented its Extreme Weather Policy. As a result the following applies:

  • The last tee time for competition play is 8:30am.

  • Social play available after 8:30am and must be finished by 12:30pm.

  • The Par 3 Course will be open from 7:30am until 12:30pm.

  • Cart usage on these days may be restricted or not permitted at all.

  • Management has the option to re-open the course if there is a change in the weather.

NB: should the actual temperature reach 37.5°C the course will be closed and play suspended.

Whenever conditions are warm, we implore all members and guests to take every precaution or to consider not playing.  Hot weather can affect anybody while playing golf. Remember to:

  • Look after yourself and keep in touch with others

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Keep cool

  • Stay out of the sun as much as possible, stay in the shade, wear a hat and light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing.
