The Aces program returns on the first Sunday in August 2020 but with COVID-19 restrictions in place. Registered participants will be emailed a reminder along with procedures to follow.
The Par-3 course has reopened to all players from Tuesday 9th June 2020.
Bookings for the Par-3 course are essential by all players, even red-capped aces, to comply with contact tracing regulations and to reduce congestion around the first tee. Please book your Par-3 round either by telephone (5255 6255) or in person at the Pro Shop.
Please maintain social distance at all times.
The Club encourages interested young golfers to register and be involved in The Barwon Heads Golf Club’s ‘Junior ACES’ program.
The Aces program is open to non-members and is aligned with MyGolf, Australia’s national junior introductory program to develop and promote participation in golf. The Club’s program shares the same aims of MyGolf, that is to increase participation and engagement in golf by children, and provide a fun, accessible and satisfying introduction to the sport of golf by promoting skills development, as well as the social and fun aspects of the sport.
If you’ve been directed to this page from the MyGolf site you will discover that the Barwon Heads ‘Aces’ program runs a little differently to most programs listed on www.mygolf.org.au
Most programs on the MyGolf site are weekly and run during school terms. Aces, however, is held on the first Sunday of each month from February to December. Prepayment is not required, participants can come when they want and pay $10 per session on the day at the Pro Shop. A reminder email will be sent to registered participants the week prior and an indication of attendance is requested.
The objectives of the Club’s junior program are to:
Support juniors to achieve their golfing goals
Enable the Club to become a leading centre of junior golf in Victoria
Develop a passion for the game of golf and a love and appreciation of the Club
Develop an active and vibrant junior membership category of the Club
The BHGC ACES program features:
Aces will be conducted on the first Sunday of each month between February and December (except in November when it is held on the second Sunday due to Father’s Day).
BHGC Professionals will provide tuition and range balls between 1.00pm and 2.00pm each Aces session
ACES par-3 tee times to be formally set aside on the Club timesheet for exclusive use of ACES participants from 2.00pm
On selected Sundays there will be presentations and prizes will be awarded in the clubhouse following the par 3 play.
Please take some time to read through the documentation in the links below and return your registration form as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact the Junior Program Coordinator, Hague Shier, on 0419 887 429.
Please contact the Club if you wish to be added to the Junior Aces email list. Recipients will receive reminders about upcoming Aces sessions and an occasional newsletter with junior news.
