Juniors
The Club encourages interested young golfers to register and be involved in The Barwon Heads Golf Club’s ‘Junior ACES’ program.
The Aces program is open to all children and shares the same aims of MyGolf (Australia’s national junior introductory program), to increase participation and engagement in golf by children, and provide a fun, accessible and satisfying introduction to the sport of golf by promoting skills development, as well as the social and fun aspects of the sport.
The Barwon Heads ‘Aces’ program runs a little differently to most programs listed on www.mygolf.org.au. Most MyGolf programs are weekly and run during school terms. Aces, however, is usually held on the first Sunday of each month from February to December. Prepayment is required prior to each session.
The objectives of the Club’s junior program are to:
-
Support juniors to achieve their golfing goals
-
Enable the Club to become a leading centre of junior golf in Victoria
-
Develop a passion for the game of golf and a love and appreciation of the Club
-
Develop an active and vibrant junior membership category of the Club
The BHGC ACES program features:
-
Aces will be conducted on the first Sunday of each month between February and December (except in September when it is held on the second Sunday due to Father’s Day).
-
BHGC Professionals will provide tuition and range balls.
-
ACES par-3 tee times to be formally set aside on the Club timesheet (book beforehand).
-
On selected Sundays there will be presentations of ‘Red Caps’ and prizes will be awarded in the Clubhouse.
Please take some time to read through the documentation in the links below and return your registration form as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact the golf shop on 03 5255 6255.
Please contact the Club if you wish to be added to the Junior Aces email list. Recipients will receive reminders about upcoming Aces sessions and an occasional newsletter with junior news.
