BHGC Community Golf Day

Thank you to everyone who came along to support the Community Golf Day on Sunday 7th August 2022.

Nearest the pin and longest drive winners were:

Brenden Murphy, Oliver Gidley, Matt Kirtly, Alelia Trethowan, Stephanie Young & Amy Proctor.

The raffle winner was Bridie Garfield.

Barbara Inglis (Club Vice President), Carmen Britnell (Acting Principal), Hague Shier, Stephen Gill (School Council)

This is always a fun day and a great opportunity for non-member locals to play the course while raising funds for the Barwon Heads Primary School.

The next Community Day is likely to be held on Sunday 6th August 2023.



Date: Sunday 6th August 2023. Bookings will open in late June 2023.

Time: 12.45pm for a 1.00pm shotgun start.




Golf on the main course

12:45pm for a 1:00pm tee-off

Parents, locals and friends are invited to make a booking on the highly regarded main course at the special price of $TBC (normally $200) for 18 holes of golf. Bookings and prepayment are essential and places limited to 112 golfers.

Green fee and raffle proceeds will go to the primary school.

Prepayment is required and players must adhere to the dress code. E.g. collared shirts, white socks (for men if wearing shorts) and strictly no denim, cargo shorts, beachwear or thongs. See here for more information about the course, etiquette and the dress code. Alcohol on the course is strictly prohibited at any time but especially so during an event for the primary school. 

The golf is social play only. Players may organise their own competition(s) between friends if they wish. There will also be nearest-the-pin and longest drive prizes.

Proceeds from green fees and a raffle will go to the primary school.



From 4:00pm

Free Par-3 golf for children (Bookings essential)

From 4:00pm, children are invited to use the Par-3 course and tennis courts for free. Please BYO balls, clubs and racquets and to guarantee a place, book via the Pro Shop. 

Parent supervision is a requirement and participants assume the risks inherent in playing and spectating golf.



The Clubhouse get-together after golf

From 5:30pm – 7:00pm  

Clubhouse get-together 

To coincide with the event on the main course finishing, the families of all golf, tennis and Par 3 participants are invited to the Clubhouse. Turn your phone to silent mode, dress appropriately (no blue denim etc. – see below) and enjoy the after-golf camaraderie of the Clubhouse. Adults must accompany children & please do note the Clubhouse dress code requirements below. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
