The Course

The Links at Barwon Heads regularly rates in Australia’s top golf courses. It is currently the highest ranked public access course on mainland Australia.

The nearby Bass Strait and sand dunes along with the weather conditions provide a course reminiscent of famed Scottish links. The undulating terrain, in harmony with the natural features of the land will ensure that you will remember time spent at Barwon Heads.

Visitors

For possibly the first time in the Club’s history, green fee play is available seven days a week—but only for a limited time.

Groups are advised to book well in advance, especially for peak times (weekends, public holidays and from late December to the Australia Day long weekend). Click the ‘Booking Your Round’ button below for full details.

Clubhouse Closure: Please note that the iconic Clubhouse will be closed for restoration and renovations from June 2024 for approximately 12 months. During this time, a temporary ‘Golfers’ Marquee’ will be erected near the practice fairway to provide a comfortable and welcoming after-golf food and beverage service.

Clubhouse Reopening: You are invited to combine your round with an overnight stay in the Clubhouse to enjoy one of Australia’s greatest golf experiences. Booking enquires are welcome for dates from mid-2025.

Etiquette

Although many of the practices below are not part of the formal rules of golf, golfers playing the links are expected to observe them.

The R&A rule book states that “the overriding principle is that consideration should be shown to others on the course at all times”.

“Dressing well is a form of good manners”
