Booking Your Round

The current situation at the Club due to COVID-19 is:

Entry to the Clubhouse is restricted to members and their guests, suitably attired green fee players, house guests staying at the Club and those registered to attend a conference, event or function.

The Clubhouse is open and operating in accordance with the government's COVID-19 regulations. Patron limits apply and contact details are required for tracing purposes. Members can view this post for more information.

All patrons are reminded to follow the COVIDSafe Principles when visiting the Club:

  • From 11.59pm, Friday 26th February 2021, face masks are no longer mandatory inside the Clubhouse or in the Pro Shop. However, you must always carry a face mask with you when you leave home unless you have a lawful reason not to, and it is strongly recommended you wear one whenever you cannot keep 1.5 metres distance from others.

  • Maintain physical distance at all times (1.5 metres).

  • Practice good hand hygiene.

  • Don’t go to work unwell (or the Club).

  • Cough and sneeze into tissue or elbow.

The main course and the practice facilities are open. The Pro Shop is also open (patron limit 10).

Members' guests are permitted on most days but only after competition times on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

The course is also open to green fee players, but due to member demand tee times are limited.

Green fee players and reciprocal club members can enquire about booking a round on the main course at a future date by clicking on this link.

Players must also conform to other government restrictions such as carrying a mask and maintaining social distance at all times.

The Par-3 course has re-opened to all, however, there can be no walk-ups. Every player must be registered on the timesheet prior to play.

Members can do this themselves, online or by calling the Pro Shop to make a booking. Non-members must book via the Pro Shop (5255 6255).

Players must also conform to other government restrictions such as carrying a mask and maintaining social distance at all times.

Juniors who are registered in the Club's Aces program will receive updates via email regarding future sessions.

Accommodation in the Clubhouse is open.

The Barwon Heads Golf Club

An overnight stay in the Clubhouse combined with a round the following morning is the best way to experience links golf at Barwon Heads.

After signing in as visitors, suitably attired green fee players are invited to dine in the Clubhouse Links Room either before or after their round. Breakfast is served from 7.00am to 9.00am (9.30am on weekends). Lunch and ‘all day’ snacks are served from 11.30am to 3.00pm. Please contact the Club at least 48 hours prior to your round if your group is interested in evening dining.

Green fee players wishing to access the course at more popular times (e.g. January, weekends, holidays etc. prior to competition times) can do so by staying in the Clubhouse and enjoying one of Australia’s greatest golf experiences.

“By staying you gain a status referred to by some as “honorary membership” giving you access to the facilities members enjoy and guaranteed tee times on most days of the year.”

Few clubhouses are as part of the golf experience as the one at The Barwon Heads Golf Club and for almost a century the Clubhouse has greeted visitors to the course and formed a backdrop for the finishing hole, so close it seems to be in play. It embodies the characteristics of the quintessential clubhouse, appearing stately in its setting, affording exceptional views of the course, and warmly housing the camaraderie of members and guests. An overnight stay in the Clubhouse combined with a round the following morning is the best way to experience links golf at Barwon Heads.

Most guests indulge in the full board package that includes dinner, breakfast the next morning, golf (18 holes) then lunch. There is also a bed and breakfast rate which entitles golfers to reduced green fees.

It is worth noting that from time to time there may be special accommodation packages including golf that offer attractive savings. E.g. During winter, Sunday-Thursday B&B packages include complimentary golf for up to two guests per room booked. Click here for more information.

Please keep in mind that players on the course and those entering the Clubhouse must dress in a manner in keeping with the Club’s course and Clubhouse dress code.
