Booking Your Round
To help slow the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, members’ guests, reciprocal members or green fee players are unable to play the course from Saturday 28th March 2020.
As per the advice from the federal and state governments, the Clubhouse was closed at midday 23rd March 2020 for an indefinite period. There will be no access to any areas of the Clubhouse including locker rooms, bathrooms, lounge areas and bars.
Prior to the 28th March, anyone with an existing green fee booking should be aware of several changes that have been made to normal play as reflected by changes to our temporary local rules and restricting cart use to one person per cart.
We ask all visitors who have any cold or fever symptoms to stay away from the Club until their medical condition has been resolved. Staff are doing all they can to keep you safe and they ask the same of you. Before visiting the Club be aware of any news update on our home page and www.health.gov.au.
Except in January when demand from members is at its highest, The Barwon Heads Golf Club welcomes green fees players to play Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), and some Sundays. Green fee players are ineligible to play within the members’ competition times: Tuesdays 8.30am-1.00 pm, Wednesdays 10.00am-2.00pm and Thursdays 9.30am-12.30pm.
The green fees payable are:
|Public||House Guest||Member’s Guest|
After signing in as visitors, suitably attired green fee players are invited in to the clubhouse to breakfast or lunch in the Links Room either before or after their round. Breakfast is served in the Links Room from 7.00am to 9.00am (9.30am on weekends). Lunch and ‘all day’ snacks are served in the Links Room from 11.30am to 3.00pm.
Green fee players wishing to access the course at more popular times (e.g. January, weekends, holidays etc. prior to competition times) can do so by staying in the clubhouse and enjoying one of Australia’s greatest golf experiences.
“By staying you gain a status referred to by some as “honorary membership” giving you access to the facilities members enjoy and guaranteed tee times on most days of the year.”
Few clubhouses are as part of the golf experience as the one at The Barwon Heads Golf Club and for almost a century the clubhouse has greeted visitors to the course and formed a backdrop for the finishing hole, so close it seems to be in play. It embodies the characteristics of the quintessential clubhouse, appearing stately in its setting, affording exceptional views of the course, and warmly housing the camaraderie of members and guests. An overnight stay in the clubhouse combined with a round the following morning is the best way to experience links golf at Barwon Heads.
Most guests indulge in the full board package that includes dinner, breakfast the next morning, golf (18 holes) then lunch. There is also a bed and breakfast rate which entitles golfers to reduced green fees of $70.00 per round on weekdays and $85 on weekends. Additional rounds may be played (subject to availability) and will be charged at the house guest rate above.
It is worth noting that from time to time there may be special accommodation packages including golf that offer attractive savings. E.g. During winter, Sun-Thurs B&B packages include complimentary golf for up to two guests per room booked. Click here for more information.
Please keep in mind that players on the course and those entering the clubhouse must dress in a manner in keeping with the Club’s course and clubhouse dress code.
