The following is a recap of the 2018 event.

Min-A Yoon (Korea)

Min-A Yoon and Jasper Stubbs have come out on top at the 2019 Junior Vic Open after an epic finale at Barwon Heads Golf Club.

Yoon, the recent Port Phillip Amateur champion, marked herself as the one to watch from the word go, leading the girls’ event wire-to-wire for one of the biggest wins of her young career. Read more here.

Meanwhile, after day three Min-A Yoon (Korea) and Tyler Duncan (QLD) remain the players to catch going in to the final round of the 2018 Junior Victorian Open. Duncan battled across the Barwon Heads layout and finished with a one over par 73 to give him a slender one shot lead.

Day two report:

Tyler Duncan has distanced himself from the field at the halfway point of the Junior Victorian Open, producing a magnificent 64 on the creek course at 13th Beach. Commonwealth’s Daniel Gill will be trying to chase down the Queenslander over the next two days, as he sits three back on seven-under after his 68 at Barwon Heads today. Day one report:

Harrison Burner from Glenelg (SA) equalled the men’s course record set by Heath D’Altera in 2005 after calm and overcast weather greeted players for the first day of the second edition of the revamped Junior Victorian Open at 13th Beach Golf Links and Barwon Heads Golf Club.

The Club is proud to co-host the Victorian Junior Open (U18) being played from the 17th to the 20th of December 2018.

First run in 2013 in the lead up to the Victorian Open, the former 18-hole tournament provided a great opportunity for juniors to experience the environment of a professional event. Following on from the recent success of the $3M Victorian Open, the Victorian Junior Open is now played at 13th Beach Golf Links and Barwon Heads Golf Club as an Australian Ranked 72-hole tournament. All players compete one round on the Beach and Creek courses at 13th Beach and one round at Barwon Heads. Players then play the final round at The Barwon Heads Golf Club.

A total of 178 players have registered to play in this year’s event which will be held from Monday 17th to Thursday 20th December 2018. Player details, tee times for the first two days and additional details about the event can be found on the Junior Victorian Open page on the Golf Australia website.

For the first three rounds, the field will play on the Barwon Heads course in the morning only. (Teeing off from approximately 7.00am to 8.12am). On Thursday 20th December the 54-hole cut for the 2018 championship has been removed. Therefore, all players will have the opportunity to compete in the final round at The Barwon Heads Golf Club

The Barwon Heads course has been re-routed to enhance the final round live stream. The 7th tee will become the 1st, and the 6th will become the 18th. The live stream is being coordinated by Golf Australia and can be watched on their website or on their Facebook page.

We look forward to welcoming participants and spectators.
