Historical Society – Hickory Shaft Golf 2023

Cloudy, max. 13C, showers with the chance of small hail was the forecast. Links conditions suiting a hickory golf day. 

As it turned out, the weather was mostly sunny with no showers at all – with the cool conditions allowing participants to don their best woollens.  

 

The Golf Society of Australia’s vision is “to preserve, share and celebrate the history of golf in Australia.” As part of their commitment, they run several hickory golf days, the most recent at Barwon Heads on Friday 26th May 2023.

 

Visitors from the society, along with a handful of Club members got a feel for how the founding members of the Club experienced the course.  

Lunch was held in the Clubhouse after golf.
