JUNIOR PENNANT

After last week’s bye, Barwon Heads returns to competition this Sunday 23 November for the final round, playing at home against the top-of-the-ladder side.

Members are encouraged to spectate and support our juniors. They’ll be playing from the first tee during an 8.00am shotgun start.

Similar to a basketball player taking a free throw looking at the ring when taking a shot, making practice strokes looking at the hole can really help you with your ability to judge distances on the greens. 

Looking at your target when doing a practice swing creates a mental picture for both distance and speed.

Once you have made practice strokes looking at your target, address the ball as you normally would and aim to make your stroke as soon after the practice swings as possible. This will keep the feel of the stroke strong - the greater the delay between practice strokes and hitting your putt, the more likely you are to become mechanical and lose your feel - and as we know, putting is largely about feel and trusting your stroke.
