WEDNESDAY GOLFERS' CUP

After round five Shane Favaloro has taken a one-point lead over JEG Robertson with Geoff Reeve only another point behind.

Blackmans picked up a trophy and 16 medals at this year's Australian International Beer Awards including the Best Porter or Stout Trophy and three gold medals including one for their Mervyn pale ale.

Craft Beer & Curry

Tomorrow, Wednesday 26th July 2023 - From 6.30pm

This should be fun...

We're thrilled to invite you to an enjoyable evening where you can experience craft beers from the multi award-winning Blackmans Brewery. They'll be offering samples of their finest beers for you to try before you pick one that perfectly complements your main course.

Savour the flavors of a delicious beef rogan josh, accompanied by saffron and almond basmati, coconut and green chili sambal, and cumin and garlic spiced naan bread.

For just $35, you can enjoy the beer tasting, a satisfying main course, and a can of Blackmans beer. There will also be a vegetarian option available. And don't forget to save room for our special dessert offering.

Men's & Women's Club Foursomes Championship 2023

Entries close this Friday 28th July.

Please get your entries in by this Friday for the men’s (inc. the GC Adams & HF Tucker Foursomes) and women’s Club Foursomes Championships. You have the option of playing your qualifying round on either Tuesday 8th August or Sunday 13th August 2023.

FRiday Night Clubhouse Drinks

This Friday 28th July 2023 from 5.30pm

Being two-thirds through winter we have every reason to celebrate!

As usual there will be a delightful Clubhouse get-together on the last Friday of the month, where the Club will put on a selection of nibbles. No reservations are needed for drinks – everyone is welcome to join in.

First Friday Dinner & Bridge

Friday 4th August 2023

Enjoy a house-cooked meal and a glass of wine before a few hands of bridge. What a wonderful idea. $35

Sunday Roast (Lunch)

From Sunday 6th August 2023

Starting from Sunday 6th August, and continuing on the first Sunday of each subsequent month, we are excited to add a mouthwatering roast special to our normal lunch menu. We will remind you via the website during the week prior.

Mixed Guest Day

Sunday 6th August 2023 (8.30am shotgun)

Don't miss the chance to participate in our Mixed Guest Day. This is a fantastic opportunity for members to invite their friends or colleagues to play on our highly ranked course, with just a $5 competition fee, instead of the usual weekend/peak rates of $110 for member guests or $225 for public green fees. Players of all genders can form pairs.

After the game, treat yourself and your guest to snacks and/or lunch (at members' expense). And for those who plan ahead and make separate pre-bookings (by Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023 please), the delectable traditional Sunday roast mentioned above will be available to savour. ($30pp).

Junior Aces

Sunday 6th August - 9.00am & 10.00am

As this newsletter is being put together it is forecast to be 17C on Sunday. Get your children/grandchildren into the sunlight by taking them to Aces, the Club's junior golf program that runs on the first Sunday of each month. One-hour sessions are offered at 9am and 10am. All welcome.

Community Golf Day

Sunday 6th August 2023

The 2023 Community Golf Day, a social afternoon of golf followed by a Clubhouse get-together that raises funds for the Barwon Heads Primary School is fully booked and waitlisted. Thank you to all members who have supported the event.

Member Sundays

Sunday 13th August 2023 - 2.00pm

'Member Sundays' is run monthly. All members - especially new ones - may benefit by coming along. The feedback is always excellent.

In August, Jane Galbraith will represent the Membership Sub-Committee. Please register your interest by calling the golf shop (5255 6255) by the Friday evening prior.

Four enticing gin cocktails will be matched with premium canapes from the Barwon Heads kitchen.

In case you missed it... Bastille Day

Gleefully hosted by French F&B Manager, Anton Sergent, the night was a true celebration of French culture. French-inspired cuisine and a special selection of festive French wines from Bordeaux, the Rhone Valley, Touraine, Beaujolais and the Savoie transported members' taste buds to the streets of Paris. Live music with traditional French melodies featured a guest appearance by Anton doing his versions of Serge Gainsborough and Édith Piaf.

CounterStroke Golf Classic

Monday 9th October 2023. 12.30pm shotgun start.

Played annually since 1994, the Counterstroke Golf Classic has raised significant funds for the Stroke Foundation.

Each day of the three-day Classic offers mutually exclusive competitions (4BBB Stableford) in women's, men's, and mixed events on three Bellarine courses. Play one day or all three. The Barwon Heads event on day one begins with a light lunch.
