Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
We would like to give members advance notice that Clubhouse trading hours will change on the 24th and 25th December 2022.
On Saturday 24th December, a Christmas Eve drinks and canapes get-together is being planned but dinner service will not be offered. On Christmas Day, breakfast will be available until 9.00am but unfortunately lunch and dinner will not be offered. Our regular Christmas lunch attendees will no doubt be disappointed, but the situation of having to cancel such a special occasion at the last minute due to the continuing shortage of experienced hospitality staff would be an even greater disappointment.
Christmas-themed lunch and dinner group dining packages will be available to book throughout December; more details will be available soon.
Interclub Opportunity
Sunday 25th September at BHGC vs Huntingdale
Members are given the opportunity to register their interest in representing the Club in the upcoming interclub event between Huntingdale and Barwon Heads
Two men and two women are required to fill a team comprised of eight mixed pairs to compete for the Corsair Cup, an annual four ball Stableford event between Huntingdale and Barwon Heads. It will be played on Sunday 25th September 2022.
The Members' Lounge is the place to be for drinks and nibbles this Friday from 6:00pm. To tempt you - two premium Four Pillars gin & tonics will be available for only $10 each.
Limited Edition Bloody Shiraz Gin 2022 - Made using cool climate Shiraz this gin has become a cult-favourite for Four Pillars, perfectly balancing sweet fruit and ginny goodness.
Limited Edition Olive Leaf Gin - A savoury gin made using EVOO and olive leaf tea that’s textural, bright and
perfect for a Martini or gin & tonic.
No need to book for drinks, but please reserve a table for dinner if you're considering staying late.
Curry Special
This Thursday, 25th August 2022.
To spice things up a little the last of our series of winter Wednesdays will be held... this Thursday.
This week will feature one of chef Jules' specialty curries - a rendang. Julian once owned a restaurant in Singapore and will draw on his extensive experience working with spices and aromatics. Once again, the main course special will be $25. Please make your dinner bookings (from 6.00pm) by calling 5255 6255.
Brush & Bubbles - Spring Edition
Thursday 1st September
The arrival of spring will be welcomed with floral artistry when Geelong's Brush & Bubbles return to host a second art class themed 'flowers'. The price includes paint equipment, aprons, instructor, nibbles & a glass of bubbles on arrival. Links Room 6.30pm-9.00pm - $75pp. Come along for a fun evening and watch your artistic talents bloom.
In addition to the regular a la carte menu, the Links Room blackboard special on Father's Day will feature roast porterhouse with vegetables for $30 with dads receiving a complimentary glass of Heathcote Shiraz. Children under twelve receive a drink, main and ice cream for $15.
Please book via reception or at the bar and mention 'Father's Day'.
Junior Aces
New date: Sunday 11th September
Normally held on the first Sunday of the month, Aces will be postponed to the second Sunday (11th September) due to Father's Day. A booking reminder email will be sent to junior database.
Bridge BiAthlon
Sunday 18th September
Golf and bridge lovers should come to the Club on Sunday 18th September for a social biathlon featuring morning golf (4BBB pairs) followed by lunch, then pairs bridge in the afternoon. It doesn’t matter which is your strongest suit, the day is all about having fun.
Bookings have been strong with only two or three tables remaining.
Appoint yourself or another member as captain and book a table with the names of ten members or guests. $30pp includes a simple dinner (porterhouse and vegetables) and trivia. Please advise dietary requirements at the time of booking. If you'd like to attend but can't find nine others to commit, give Tamara a call and she will help place you on a table.
6:00pm arrival, 6:30pm dinner and at 7:00pm trivia begins.
Each table will be allocated a colour to dress up in. There are 12 tables of 10 available with a prize awarded to the winning table.
