Friday Night Drinks - This Week
Organised drinks and nibbles in the Members' Lounge are on this Friday and to celebrate there will be live music to welcome its return. We look forward to seeing you.
This Friday 24th June from 6:00pm.
No need to book for drinks, but please make a booking for dinner if you're considering staying late.
Bastille Day - 14th July
Thursday 14th July 2022
The booking sheet was stormed when it opened, and the Bastille Day dinner was fully booked within a couple of days. Great news! Today, ten extra places have been made available.
Some details:
Date & time: Thursday 14th July 2022 at 6:00pm
Location: Links Room
Cost: $130 includes upbeat, live, gypsy jazz, kir royale and canapes on arrival, followed by entree, main & cheese.
Above: There is no obligation to dress-up, but as many members did last year a prize will be presented this year. The winner, as judged by a panel of staff, will win a bottle of Heidsieck Monopole 2010 Champagne.
Free event - Saturday 23rd July 2022. (Not the 9th of July as previously advised).
Join Nick Price, co-author of Stalin's Wine Cellar, a wild, sometimes rough ride in the glamorous world of high-end wine.
To set the scene, a free tasting of two Georgian wines will be offered on arrival and a limited quantity available to purchase by the glass. (See below.)
Books can be purchased from reception ($20) if you would like to read it before the talk. They will also be for sale on the night.
It is appreciated if you could book on the timesheet to indicate your attendance.
Please make separate bookings for dinner beforehand if you are considering staying after the talk.
For any wine lover this event is worth attending purely for the opportunity to try two very unique wines.
A blend of Mtsvane, Kisi, Khikhvi, Tsolikouri and Tetra from Kakheti, Georgia.
Traditional Georgian Qvevri fermented wine made with Kakheti Saperavi grapes.
Fire Brigade Appreciation Days
Tuesday 12th July & Wednesday 13th July 2022
Continue your support for the Barwon Heads CFA by playing in either of the Club's annual Fire Brigade Appreciation Days.
Members will be charged a $10 competition fee, with $5 per player being donated to the Barwon Heads CFA. In addition, a donation box will be placed in the bar area throughout the week for any extra donations you may like to contribute.
Winter Wednesdays
Give the gas hob at home a rest. Instead, let someone else cook while you dine in the warm, welcoming Clubhouse. It’s an easy option for an inexpensive restaurant meal.
On selected Wednesdays during winter a special $25 main will be offered.

Wednesday 27th July - Risotto (TBC the week prior)

Please make your dinner bookings (from 6.00pm) by calling 5255 6255. A vegetarian option for each special will be available (but other dietary requirements may not be possible).

Victorian Senior Amateur AT BHGC
Monday 12th to Wednesday 14th September 2022
The Victorian Senior Amateur returns to the Club after a COVID-interrupted two-year break.
The men's and women's championships are each played over 54-holes and will be hosted by the Club and 13th Beach. Entries are now open via the Golf Australia website. Age Limit: 55 (men) & 50 (women) and above as of Monday 12 September 2022. GA H'Cap Limit: 24.4 (men) & 36.4 (women)
Dinner consists of a single course with a glass of wine at 6.30 pm. If you are only playing bridge, please advise the office and arrive at 7.15 pm for 7.30 pm start. Any questions, please ring Sherryl Nelson – 0432 203 098
The Club's junior Aces program will run again on Sunday 3rd July. This time there will be one 'super session' at 10am with play on the Par-3 afterwards - followed by a gathering in the Clubhouse. Please book via the Pro Shop.
