Welcome Back

With the Clubhouse set to reopen on 1st June, hear from Alan, Marg and Jane about what they have been up to during the pandemic........

Staged reopening from Monday 1st June

The Premier of Victoria the Hon. Daniel Andrews MP announced on the 25th of this month that from 11.59pm on 31st May, restaurants, cafes and other hospitality businesses can resume dine-in service with several restrictions.

Accordingly, The Barwon Heads Golf Club Clubhouse will reopen on Monday 1st June from 7:00am to 5:00pm daily. Closing times may extend longer on the busy competition days.

The key restrictions applicable to visiting the Clubhouse are:

  • Up to 20 seated patrons per enclosed space is permitted. e.g. 20 in the Members' Lounge plus 20 in the Links Room. This number may be increased later in the month.
  • Alcohol can only be served with a meal, which is more than a ‘snack’. The Club will provide members with a range of meals to comply with this requirement.
  • Members and staff must abide by physical distancing requirements. Limits will be placed on entry to comply with the density requirements allowed within a single space - one customer per four square metres.
  • Tables will be spaced at least 1.5m apart.
  • The Club is required to request contact details, first name and the phone number, of every member/guest entering the dining areas to assist in rapid contact tracing. Other safety precautions will also be undertaken, including extra cleaning. It goes without saying that staff, members and their guests should not enter the Clubhouse if unwell.

Please read about the procedures we ask that everyone follows below.

In the lead up to the announcement the Club has been working diligently to determine the safest and most appropriate way to reopen the Clubhouse once the COVID-19 state of emergency restrictions were removed.
