Dear members and guests

Following the Australian Government advice regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), I want to provide you with an update on how the Club is responding.

The wellbeing of our members and guests is our highest priority. We continue to monitor the coronavirus situation closely and review the Club's operations based on the advice of the World Health Organisation and Australia's Chief Medical Officer.

What we're doing

Currently the Club is able to operate for the most part on a business-as-usual basis. However, staff, members and guests have a very important role to play to help us keep it this way. In particular, we encourage everyone to follow the advice that has been issued by the Department of Health concerning ways to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection.  To this end we ask you to familiarise yourself with the Department's document titled "Ten ways to reduce your risk of coronavirus" and to adopt its practices in and around the Club. We also ask members and visitors who have any cold or fever symptoms to stay away from the Club until their medical condition has been resolved. Members and guests who have recently been overseas should also consider staying away from the Club for 14 days as a precautionary measure.

The Club's management team have run through a range of desktop scenarios to prepare for any potential disruption. At this stage, we will continue to monitor the advice from the relevant authorities and update members via our E-news and website as required.

Cleaning and housekeeping staff are following environmental cleaning and disinfection principles for COVID-19. Specific fact sheets for hospitality staff have been circulated.

What's next

As a rapidly developing issue, we will be monitoring the situation on a daily basis.

As you will be aware, the Premier of Victoria, Daniel Andrews, has foreshadowed the potential closures of schools and other public events in the future if circumstances demand it. Should this occur, we will need to modify the Club's operations to comply with any new regulations. We will keep you informed of the situation.

If you have any questions in relation to these matters, please do not hesitate to contact me.
