Dear Aces, Junior Members and Junior Golf Week participants,

Aces Postponed until Sunday 8th

The first Sunday in September is Father's Day, so we won't be having Aces this coming weekend. So, play the par-3 on Sunday morning with Dad and then take him out to lunch!

September Aces will instead be held at 1pm on the following Sunday 8th September.

We have ordered new red Aces caps but they are not quite here yet so we will now have our Aces Sunday red caps presentation in the clubhouse on Sunday 6th October. This gives you two more Sundays to qualify for your free official Club Aces cap.

To assist the organisers, it would be very helpful if you could click here to send an email to let them know you're planning to attend the next Sunday Aces session.

If it's your first time at an Aces session, please pay at the Pro Shop (the building opposite the clubhouse). Then make your way to the driving range near the coaching hut at the western end of the lower car park.

Please make sure you're dressed for warmth and appropriately while on the course. Take a moment to look at the Club's dress code. In general terms we require everyone to wear neat attire including a collared shirt/polo (tucked in for boys), tailored trousers/shorts/skirts, white socks (for boys wearing shorts) and closed shoes. You can read all about the dress code on the website.

State Primary School Championships

Charlie Collins, Noah Troedel, Claudia Collins and Campbell Shier (L-R above) had fun playing together in the final district qualifying event for this year's State Primary School Championship on the 5th August. Claudia was the star of the day winning the girls' event with a score of 51 at Clifton Springs Golf Club. Campbell (42) was equal 3rd in the event for boys and also progressed to the regional stage at Curlewis Golf Club on the 12th November.

Good luck Campbell and Claudia.

Community Golf Day

Each year on the first Sunday in August The Barwon Heads Golf Club donates the use of the course to the community in order to host a fund raiser for the local primary school. The Club also puts on a sausage sizzle for participants and their families and provides the main prize for the school's raffle.

This year the weather was kind, players were happy, and the community turned up in droves!  There was a full field on the main course, a great turn-out on the par-3 course and standing room only in the clubhouse afterwards. All up, $6,500 or so was raised for the primary school. Well done everyone. Click the link below to see more photos.

2019 MYGOLF development Camp

In 2019, the MyGolf Girls Development Camp will again be held at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort. Open to girls between the age of 10-16 with or without a handicap regardless whether they are a MyGolfer or not, the camp aims to build friendships, support and develop all aspects of their golf game and have fun.

It sounds like a great camp so if you are interested please contact Chris Crabbe, Golf Australia South Western & Western District Regional Development Officer, on his mobile 0429 567 683 to discuss this opportunity in greater detail.
