Australia Day Honours

Three members received awards in the recent Australia Day Honours list, joining a small group of other members who have been recognised in previous years.

Emeritus Professor Richard G. Larkins AO (2012) was awarded the Order of Australia Companion (AC) for "Service to medicine and medical research, to education through academic leadership, to public health care, and to the community." This is the highest award possible. Also recognised this year, with an Order of Australia Medal (OAM), was Dr. Nigel W. Hocking for "Service to medicine as a paediatrician" and Judy Vanrenen, who members would see in the directory listed as Judith Prasser. She was awarded an OAM for "Service to the hospitality and tourism sectors."

Golf Programmes / Diary

There was an unfortunate occurrence during the design/proofing process that resulted in the omission of the 'year joined' category in the list of members. The printers have agreed to reprint a quantity and these will be delivered to the Club in the near future. Please let reception know if you need a replacement. In the meantime, the list that includes the 'year joined' column can be found in the Club Document Library in the PDF titled Diary 2019 / Member Phone Numbers.

If you're yet to collect your diary please remember it is available in different formats. Click this link to learn more.

General Course Update

Work will commence on Monday 4th February on modifications to the 11th fairway drive bunker. The CDP plan can be viewed here.

Greens renovation will take place after the Club Championship long weekend on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th March.

South African couch eradication from 3rd fairway: - Excavation is required to remove the sprayed areas of South African couch grass in the third fairway. The soil will be replaced and re-turfed with native couch grass, harvested from the third or fifth fairway. It's likely that work will be carried out at the same time as the greens are renovated on the 12th and 13th March. Soil may be excavated from the third tee to fairway carry area.
