J M Gubbins Trophy – First played 1987 – Singles Stableford. Played in January.

A J M Shepherd Trophy – First played 1965 – 18 holes Par. Played on a Wednesday in January.

H F Tucker Foursomes – First played 1974 Stroke Handicap qualifying round, played during August. Four pairs to qualify for foursomes match play knockout finals.

Alex Russell Trophy – First played 1963 – 36 holes Stroke Handicap. Played over the two rounds of Club Championships.

Richard Hallowes Trophy – First played 1997 – Best qualifying score in the Club Championship.

Club Championship – First played 1922 – 36 holes (2 qualifying rounds) over the weekend proceeding the Labour Day weekend. Best eight players proceed to match play finals.  Best four if there are less than 18 players. Qualifiers for match play contest their matches on the Saturday & Sunday of Labour Day weekend, with the final being held on Labour Day. GA Handicaps A Grade 0-11, B Grade 11.1-19, C Grade 19.1-36

Joe Scudamore Memorial Trophy – First played 2015 – Nett event played in conjunction with Veterans Championship in October. 2 players qualify for match play finals.

Centenary Medal Match Play Knockout – First played 2007 – Knockout draw compiled after the completion of the club championships. Top nett scores from the Club Championship qualifying rounds and all the championship grade winners to make up to 16 players.

Geoff Gubbins Memorial Trophy – First played 2015 – Singles Stableford. Played Saturday of Easter weekend.

T E Bostock Memorial – First played 1963- 18 holes Par. Played on Easter Monday.

Graham Trophy – First played 1972 -18 holes Par for players 65years and over. Played in conjunction with the Bostock Trophy.

Services Cup – First played 1935 -18 holes Par from the red tees. Open to all members who have served in any of the 3 services including those members who served as part of National Service. Played in April in conjunction with the Anzac Cup for non-servicemen.

The Bradfield Bucket – First played 2003 – A 4BBB played on a Sunday in Autumn. Partners drawn prior to a black tie dinner held on Saturday night.

Leslie Sprague Memorial Cup – First played 1946 – 4BBB Knockout.

Russell Cup – First played 1955 – 18 holes Stroke Handicap. Played on a Wednesday.

Handicapper’s Trophy – First played 1948 -18 hole singles Stroke Handicap Knockout. Stableford qualifying round to be played on a Saturday in June with top 32 to qualify for stroke handicap match play.

Inauguration Cup – First played 1922 – 36 holes Stroke Handicap. Played on 2 successive Saturdays in September.

Ian Wall Father & Son Fourball – First played 2006 –  4BBB Stableford open to Father & Sons or Stepfather & Stepsons or Son-in-laws.  One player in the pair must be a Member and both players must have current handicaps.  Played on a Sunday in November.

G C Adams Scratch Foursomes – First played 1987 – 4 best qualifying pairs play match play knockout finals. Played in conjunction with the HF Tucker Foursomes in August.

W J (Bud) Russell Trophy – First played 1980 – 18 holes Stableford.

President’s v Captain’s Teams Match – First played 1965 – All members welcome to play. 4BBB match play. Teams selected by the President and Captain in the week prior.

Shaw Foursomes – First played 1956 – Played on a Sunday in November. Preceded by dinner and calcutta on Saturday night.

W H Swanton Cup – First played 1951 – 18 holes Stroke handicap for members over 40 years. Played on a Wednesday during July.

Wednesday Golfer’s Cup – First played 2001 – Played on selected Wednesdays throughout the year. Best 3 Stableford scores count.

Barwon Heads v Royal Melbourne – First played 1957. Men, Women & Mixed teams match (4BBB). Played each year in May at alternating courses.

Barwon Heads v Royal Adelaide – First played 1973 4BBB match play, teams of approximately 16. Played biennially on alternating courses.

Barwon Heads v Elanora – First played 1997 – Teams of approximately 24 players (12 men and 12 women). Played annually on alternating courses.

Barwon Heads v The National The National Heads Trophy – First played 1993 -Mixed 4BBB Match. Played annually on alternating courses.

Mixed Foursomes Championship – First played in 2024.  Played in conjunction with Thomas McKellar Trophy on New Years Day.  18 hole (1 Qualifying Round) for Members only.  4 best qualifying pairs proceed to scratch match play knockout finals.

E L Hayne Trustees Putting Competition – First played 1994 -Qualifying via count your putt events throughout the year. Best 3 putting rounds count. Eight qualify for match play knockout finals to be played in January. Played in conjunction with the Women’s Beth Jacka Putting Competition.

Burston Trophy – First played 1958 – Mixed Foursomes Knockout competition. First Round Conditions and Subsequent Round Conditions.

Veterans Championships – Played in October. 18 hole (1 Qualifying Rounds). Best 2 players proceed to scratch match play knockout finals.

Par 3 Championships – Over 18 holes. Open to men, women & juniors GA Handicaps A Grade 0-12, B Grade 12.1-25, C Grade 25.1-45. Played in January.

Peter Hay Trophy – First played 2009 – Awarded to the lowest score of the Par 3 championships regardless of handicap. Played in January.

Cunningham Trophy – First played 1977 – Men, Women or Mixed Canadian Foursomes Stableford. Played on a Sunday during January, in aid of Red Cross.

Gatehouse Trophy – First played 1975 – Canadian Mixed Foursomes Stroke on Easter Sunday.

Invitational Team Events

The Barwon Cup, Vincent Cup, and Barwon Plate – The Vincent Cup and Barwon Plate are both invitational four-Member men’s team events where teams are entered by their Club.  The Barwon Cup is presented to the best 36 hole individual score.

Invitational Challenge Trophy – First played 2002 (men) and 2014 (women)

Men – A three-day, four member, teams event principally for reciprocal and linked Clubs, participants stay in the house during the event. Played in May.

Women – A two-day, four member, teams event principally for reciprocal and linked Clubs, participants stay in the house during the event. Played in August.
